Come carve with us!

SCWB is an annual spooncarving and greenwood working event organized by Henrik Håland, Daniel Dondorp and previously also Andreas Söderlund. Since 2018 the event has attracted people to the beautiful Hordamuseum in Bergen to learn, carve and hang with likeminded people. The event is suitable for every skill level, and while we traditionally do not do "courses", we are passionate about teaching the craft and give instructions on your level. We also have many regular participants who are highly skilled and happy to share their knowledge. So if you have never carved anything before, or you already regularly find woodchips in your coffee, SCWB offers you a space to engage in this wonderful craft in a positive relaxed atmosphere in beautiful surroundings.

History of SCWB

​

• 2018 - First SCWB conceived by Henrik and Andreas. With Hultafors as a partner and international engagement the SCWB story started with a bang.
• 2019 - The second event welcomed Tormek Sharpening as a partner. Tormek gave presentations and workshops to help people bring their sharpening to the next level.
• 2020 - 2021 The Covid years made big events impossible, but Henrik still managed to offer a smaller group of carvers the SCWB experience on a small scale.
• 2022 - We are back at Hordamuseet! knivspesialisten.no provided us with excellent contest- and lottery prizes! By this time Daniel has worked his way up from regular participant to co-organizer. 
• 2023 - A surprisingly quiet year.
• 2024 - A full strength SCWB complete with T-shirts, demonstrations and beautiful weather.
• 2025 - March - SCWB Winter Edition - A small gathering with a bit more focus on taking new carvers through the process from log to spoon.

The Team

Henrik Berge Håland

Henrik has been doing historical crafts for quite some time; blacksmithing, iron smelting, tanning, brewing, carving and leatherwork. Working as restoration carpenter at Bryggen in Bergen.

Daniel Dondorp

Daniel has been with us since the first SCWB event and is a great help. He is a creative, positive helper with a deep love for the outdoors. Originally from The Netherlands.
